Objectives

To launch the online shop for the event visitors and return new revenue to the event organiser.

Background

This is a highly respected event which curates some of the best luxury and unique gift and food brands in UK. They were looking for new ways to improve the show experience and reach. When we approached them to start their own online marketplace to complement the in-person experience they jumped at the opportunity.

The objective of the online event shop was to grow the event brand. To help exhibitors sell to the target audience all year round, and to attract more like-minded people. In adding to the new revenue stream for both the organiser and the exhibitors.

Solution

SuperStore Systems were able to build the online shop and onboard over 200 individual exhibitors many of whom had no previous online selling experience.

The response to the shop was hugely positive with over 40,000 unique visitors browsing and buying from the 7,651 gifts offered for sale resulting in over £450,000 sales in the first month.

Result:

The marketplace built the brand for the benefit of all the stakeholders. The online shopping channel was of significant financial value to the Show exhibitors. It attracted new exhibitors and in several cases it was key to their decision to book early for the following year.

The visitors were able to browse and buy from exhibitors outside the show time and increased their engagement with the brand.

The show organisers benefited from the commission on all sales and increased the database of visitors with 28% of buyers being previously unregistered with the organiser.
